Just another old Gringo's version … By Dan

Once more into the breech...

Winter finally arrived down here...such as it is. The temperatures are now 50 or 51 degrees when I take Angelina to school in the mornings but it warms up quickly to around 70 or so. Today was a scorcher at 74.

As much as I like sitting on the patio in the Sun reading my Horse**** and Gunsmoke novels I did get off my thing and did something constructive that I have been contemplating for a while. Yes, those are cucumbers that I sliced with my Danvery own Chiquito (little) Manos (hands). I am making Bread and Butter pickles. My Mom used to make those for Angelina and I ,but she is not around anymore so I gave it a try today. I also have the Angelina seal of good eating approval. We sampled them tonight.

Now I suppose some of you will know what this is. but I have always seen these in a pot sitting around a room never knew that it as suppose to be a Poinsettia (thank you spell check) tree.

My roses are blooming again.

DanSure glad I don't have any chrysanthemums I would be in big spelling trouble. I heard you all were getting ready for some cold weather up that way hard to imagine in this climate. A dirty job but someone has to do it.

Now many have wondered what we did down here for danThanksgiving. Polvo (Turkey) being craved by Peter (the ex Postman)at Laguna Real Estate Bed and Breakfast where 30 or 40 of us met and shared bread. We all brought a covered dish so there was plenty to eat.

What would a week be without a horseback ride so here is the princess. That is me the Danunseen foto taker. This kid is going to be the life of me yet!

Speaking of life, we all went to "Que Linda" restaurant for the celebration on the occasion of my seventh decade of survival on the planet. Wrinkles do not hurt, but old bodies do.

What would a week be without going to see our friends Laura and Javier out at the Bird Ranch for a "steak out". Lots and lots of great food and a Coconut Flan for Dandessert that was out of this world. I was too busy helping with the cooking so no pictures of that event. But afterward I took a foto of these three ladies. I think they are plotting the over throw of the government...Hopefully.

There is a 9 day fiesta going on in the Village. It started this past weekend. Every morning and evening there are LOUD fireworks being shot off so no need for an alarm clock this week. I'll try to get some fotos.

Well that is a wrap for this week.

Your Mexico Connection...Dan and Angelina
