School for Special Children Logo Design Competition |
New Mission! New Board! New Logo! Over the last few years, the mission of the School for the Deaf in Jocotopec has broadened.
|
Assisting the School is a particular challenge since the student population now is much more diverse. Only 20% of the students are hearing impaired. The remainder of the students struggle with a range of mental and physical disabilities. For example, the School has currently enrolled children with Down's syndrome, Autistic spectrum syndromes, seizure disorders and paraplegia. And now a blind student attends. Thus, the new Board wants to develop a new logo that better reflects their mission for the newly named School for Special Children (Escuela para Niņos Especiales.)
Local artists are encouraged to submit their design for a new logo for the School by August 30.
Preliminary judging will be done by the Board to narrow the choice to six logo submissions. The six final artists will be notified to arrange display at the Ajijic Cultural Center. Final judging of these six logo entries will be open to the public at the Center from September 15-20. The winning entry will be announced at an event at the Center on September 26 when the artist of the winning logo will receive a prize of $1,000 pesos.
